I own the design-systems architecture behind products serving financial advisors, token implementation across color, type, spacing, and motion; scalable Figma component libraries; and the accessibility and design standards that keep teams aligned at scale. I work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and marketing to ship cohesive experiences.

Most recently, I joined Vanguard's Figma Make beta and rollout, building functional tools for business partners. The work is evidence of how I operate: AI-native day-to-day, not just designing AI products.

Design Systems AI-Native Tooling

On a high-volume site, the hero is the layout you rebuild constantly, and it fails in ways nobody catches until later. A hero that meets WCAG AA on desktop will often miss it on mobile: the image crops, the text reflows, contrast slips, and touch targets shrink below the minimum. Auditing that by hand, page by page, across three viewports, never kept pace.

So I built a tool in Figma Make that runs the check while you assemble the hero. It uses our real hero components and validates contrast, alt text, focus order, and touch-target size separately for desktop, tablet, and mobile, flagging what fails on each before anything ships. I designed and shipped it myself in days, with no engineering cycle to prove the concept first. That's the part I'd point to: when I hit a problem that repeats across the whole site, AI tooling lets me build the fix instead of writing a guideline and hoping people follow it.

Case Study

At Woven by Toyota, I owned a design system serving in two directions at once: external products and internal tools, plus the marketing work around them. I defined token systems across color, type, spacing, and motion, and maintained the Figma component libraries that kept a global team aligned. The hard part was evolving the foundation without breaking what already shipped: I modernized it while keeping 37 legacy products live with zero breaking changes. Holding both directions at once is where design system maturity is most evident.

Case Study

BitTorrent wanted to bring peer-to-peer streaming to a mainstream audience. The obvious pitch was performance — P2P delivers fast, resilient streams without centralized infrastructure. My argument, after early research, was that performance was table stakes and the real product problem was legitimacy: the BitTorrent name carried fifteen years of association with piracy, malware, and technical complexity. If mainstream users didn't trust that what they were watching was safe and legal, no amount of speed would matter.


So I reframed the work around a single question: how do you make peer-to-peer streaming feel trustworthy to people who associate "torrent" with risk? The player, discovery, and onboarding all became downstream of that.
